This term, a group of our learners took part in Surf Therapy sessions delivered by The Wave Project, with the programme concluding on 5 November 2025 for the winter period. The experience offered learners a unique opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and improve emotional regulation in a calm and positive environment.
The Wave Project coordinator shared high praise for the group’s engagement and progress throughout the sessions, remarking:
“It was really wonderful to see them grow in confidence and learn new skills. I particularly enjoyed seeing them get calmer and more regulated as the weeks went on and they felt comfortable and happy at sessions. It was also great fun!”
The programme offered far more than surf skills, it supported wellbeing, resilience, and self-esteem, all while giving learners the chance to connect with nature and experience the therapeutic benefits of the ocean.
Lisa Smith, Principal of Three Bridges School, said:
“We are incredibly proud of all the learners who took part in Surf Therapy this term. The progress they made, not only in their confidence but also in their emotional regulation and willingness to try something new, has been wonderful to see. We are deeply grateful to The Wave Project for their dedication, expertise and warmth.”
Three Bridges School is delighted to continue this partnership and plans to work with The Wave Project again in the spring term.
A huge well done to all our learners who took part, and a heartfelt thank you to The Wave Project for another fantastic term of support and encouragement.
