We are absolutely committed to supporting our staff to achieve their career progression goals and aspirations and are pleased to share some of their success stories here.

    Carrie Hodge

I began working at Three Bridges in September 2019, as a Learning Support Assistant and through continuous professional development I became a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in 2021.

My background is working in care, with people with cognitive impairment and dementia. I was able to transfer many of my qualities, knowledge and skills to my role at Three Bridges and also learn new things!

I am also now the wellbeing lead here. My role involves supporting our students and staff with all aspects of their wellbeing, I do regular check ins with staff and learners to ensure if they need support, I can signpost them to the right support needed. In my role I also organise wellbeing events once a month.

Three Bridges fully supported me in any course that I felt would be beneficial to my role. I have completed a variety of mental health and wellbeing course to enable me to do my role.

I love what I do, Health and wellbeing is my passion, I feel really privileged to be able to support our leaners and staff. I enjoy promoting a positive culture for health and wellbeing in our school. Ensuring our staff are well supported ensures that our staff feel valued.

    Emma Carlyon

I began working at Three Bridges in 2014 as a Learning Support Assistant and through continuous professional development I became a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in 2019.

In 2022 I completed my Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, moving on to Qualified Teaching and Learning Status (QTLS).

I teach the Science curriculum, Duke of Edinburgh, Forest school, and have recently started to develop our new Horticulture programme for the school to start being self-sufficient. I have accessed many CPD opportunities to ensure I am up to date on new resources and topics that support the curriculum.

The support I receive from all staff members has made me want to explore other opportunities within school such as being the Educational Visits coordinator which has enabled me to plan exciting trips around Cornwall and visit sports providers such as The Cornwall Sailing Trust and B.F Adventure.

I recently became the Assistant Principal here and I am excited about my new role within school.

I love what I do, and I am invested in making a difference to all the young people’s lives at our school, but also helping the staff reach their goals and aspirations here with us at Three Bridges. I strive to try and be the best in everything I do, and this will not change in my new role because its not just for me it is also for the young people at school. I love working in partnership with stakeholders and believe together we can make a difference; it is important for me to enable everyone to have an opinion, and choice to then make plans going forward which I hope benefits everybody involved in those decisions.
