Three Bridges School is proud to announce that it has achieved the Woodland Trust Green Tree Schools Award – Bronze, recognising the school’s commitment to environmental learning and connecting learners with the natural world.
The award celebrates the work of learners and staff in developing a greater understanding of trees, woodland and nature, while encouraging care for the environment through meaningful, hands-on experiences. As part of the Bronze Award, learners have taken part in activities that help them explore the natural environment, learn about the importance of trees, and develop respect for the world around them.
Engaging with outdoor learning opportunities has supported learners to build curiosity, confidence and wellbeing, while also encouraging teamwork, communication and responsibility. The award reflects Three Bridges School’s ongoing focus on providing enriching experiences that are accessible, purposeful and supportive of individual learning needs.
Principal Lisa Smith praised both learners and staff for their enthusiasm and commitment to the project.
“Achieving the Woodland Trust Green Tree Schools Bronze Award is a wonderful achievement for our learners and staff,” said Lisa. “It recognises the effort that has gone into helping our learners connect with nature in meaningful ways, while developing important life skills such as responsibility, curiosity and care for the environment. We are extremely proud of what has been achieved.”
The Green Tree Schools Award forms part of Three Bridges School’s wider approach to learning, which values outdoor experiences and real-world connections as key elements in supporting learner engagement and personal development. The school looks forward to continuing its journey with the Woodland Trust and building on this success in the future.
